The adjective “humane” is deeply misused, everywhere, not only in the Sci-Fi world. It is used to indicate something having mostly good feelings and emotions, something which does positive things. Meanwhile the word “inhumane” indicates something terrible, violent, cruel without a reason…But what a fuck! The Human when looks itself in the mirror sees only its few positive doings and minimize all the other shit he does!
The negative doings of the Homo Sapiens are the most numerous in the history and everyday, everywhere on the Earth. I don’t need to list them.
I am pretty sure that for any other intelligent specie in the universe, the term “humane” would have a terrifying negative meaning, exactly as the “inhumane” term is intended by the humans.
“Humane” means people killed for any trivial reason, animals skinned live, atrocious tortures, murdering of animals for fun, or thinking even to have the right to do it. All this means to be “Human”!!
Now you would say “But not all humans are bloody and aggressive…” not they don’t behave all equal in their ‘ordinary’ life, but all them are members of the same specie and all of them are carriers of the same basic negative human DNA.
This doesn’t mean that the Homo Sapiens has no chance to improve and become a positive specie, but in order to do it, it is a very long process. The only way to improve our specie, cleaning our bad DNA inheritance is to select the reproduction of the people who have a good DNA under this aspect. There are not other ways. I our present times, the Homo Sapiens is not going at all in this direction.
When I was young, I was also one of the many people who wonder:
“Why don’t the extraterrestrial get in contact with us; and right now? We are so intelligent, we do so many things; we done this, we do that… Why don’t they come?”
Growing up, knowing more the Homo Sapiens for what it/he really is, I stopped to ask me about that question.
The narcissist Homo Sapiens has not yet clear in mind the concept that positive doings toward the other beings, species or the environment, are no special doings at all. They are what an intelligent specie is expected to do! Nothing more!
Therefore, don’t wonder if nobody from other worlds is still descended from a flying saucer praising us for our few, small or big good doings. It will never ever happen!
How could the Homo Sapiens become a better specie?
All this doesn’t mean that the Homo Sapiens has no chance to improve and become a positive specie, but in order to do it, it is a very long process. The only way to improve our specie, cleaning our bad DNA heritage is to select the reproduction of the people who have a good DNA under this aspect. There are not other ways. It will not happen automatically, by itself. Remember about how the biological evolution works. Just behaving better, it doesn’t make our DNA heritage better.
The only way is a conscientious selection of the reproduction. In our present times, the Homo Sapiens is not going at all in this direction.
