A very ignored theme in our times is the harmfulness of the nanoparticles, which are employed in the emerging “Nanotechnologies”. Nanoparticles are particles of any kind of material, which are smaller than 100nm (nanometres). Microparticles are bigger than 1000nm (1 micron).
1 micron is 1 thousandth of millimeter, then 100nm are 0,1 thousandth of millimeter.
Many products contain nanoparticles smaller than 20nm (0,2 thousandth of millimeter).
It is already known that particles are more dangerous, the more finest they are, because they become able to penetrate biological tissues and cells.
The nanotechnologies are based on the employment of these super fine particles, in a wide range of applications, even in toothpastes and medical, as carrier for drug substances.
The conflict of interests in the capitalistic system is that the industry and research sector of nanotechnologies is growing up exponentially and it is very good for the generation of monetary profit (an artificial number), and for the growth of the non-sense number of GDP (Ground Domestic Product). Everything that generates a monetary profit is good in the capitalistic system, regardless of what it does.
In short, the cells of our immune system and of our body are not able to deal correctly with so small particles. Nanoparticles can’t be grabbed ad ejected, as the “non informed” doctors claim. Many of these particles remain inside of tissues, cells and damage them heavily, generating tumors.
The smallest nanoparticles are so small that they penetrate cells, even the core of cells damaging the DNA, similarly as radiations do.
Research about the effects of nanoparticles on the human health are not welcomed. Among these research, a notable work has been done by a group of Italian researchers, the professors Stefano Montanari and Antonietta Gatti)
They have proven how human cells can clump around an intruded nanoparticle and start building a cancer. Exemplary is the case of a patient. She got injected nanoparticles of gold, which normally is a harmless element to our body, when it is large-sized. These nanoparticles of gold carried a drug to specific cells of her ill knee. Well, her knee got healed, but she got a tumor in her liver. The tumor grew up around a nanoparticle of gold, which remained around in her body.

Now, think that nanoparticles are stuck into everything nowadays, and their industry is growing up always more, as if they were totally harmless! The word “Nano-” is even proudly exhibited on labels of any kind of products, as if it was a reason to trust more the product, instead than less!
Lubricants, motor oils, paints, in “nanomaterials”, cosmetics, soaps, toothpastes, whitening/cleaning chewing gums, candies, and even as dyes in foods. Then pay attention to what you buy and eat.
I don’t care about the monetary profit and the growth of GDP. I am not against all the applications of nanoparticles, but they should be limited to those applications where the nanoparticles don’t go dispersed in the environment and they don’t get in contact with the human body.
We have already filled the oceans and the biosphere with microplastic, and we are just beginning to pay the consequences. We don’t need to poison the planet also with nanoparticles!
And at last, a huge source of nanoparticles are the “anti-particle” filters mounted on the modern diesel cars. They are not true filters. They are post-burners. They burn the coarse carbon particles (microparticles), transforming them in gas (CO2) and nanoparticles! They just reduce the size of the particle so much, that they can be no more detected, becoming more harmful than the coarse micro particles. These “particle filters” are filling the air of your cities with these nanoparticles.
The trash burners plants works also in this way. They produce so small particles, that they can’t be stopped by the traditional filters and the output waste gas loooks “clear” to the measuring instruments. That is how the modern and clean trash burners plants works.
